Eid Mubarak !

Finally , The month of Ramadan is over . This year Ramadan was very different from all previous ramadans, or at least the last 7 ramadans i spent in Egypt .

Ramadan in Egypt is really the best 1 any other arab or isalamic country on earth because there is happiness , love and care everywhere in the streets and in each and every family . The streets are all decorated and a weird thing is that you can smell ramadan in the air .
You would tell me that i am saying that because all my family and friends are there, but in fact i believe that any single foreigner living in Egypt without his family and experienced ramadan there would feel the same and would say what i said .

This year is my first time in Dubai and i came to the country on Ramadan's eve . I have my wife with me and we are alone here without our families ,the only family member i have here is shady my cousin . But i really got surprised that in the UAE we didn't feel the joy of ramadan although i expected it to be even more than egypt as it is a very islamic country . The only thing that made me feel that it is ramadan is the shorter working day as we finished work at 3 everday . The presence of shady with us made us feel that there still is ramadan and we are fasting as we used to have iftar together almost everyday . But still, I admit it is a good experience.

The other nice experience was in eid as the company gave us a long holiday (weekend +sunday, monday and tuesday) . but all the emirates had only 2 days off, so all our friends had to work on sunday .
On monday we decided to go camp somewhere in the desert in a place called fujeirah, we were 10 people in 2 cars . we tried to camp on the sand , directly on the beach but it was really packed of people so we decided to camp down a nice hill where the sea was in front of us and the mountains behind . wearrived there by 5 PM and made a beautiful camp fire , set our tents and started to do the BBQ for a nice grilled meal . Awake for all night long , listening to music , playing nice games, having drinks and alot of food .it was just amazing and beautiful . But the bad this is that we had to leave early in the morning because the weather was extremely hot and we couldn't stand it at all .
